In the first game 7 of the 2015 NHL playoffs, the Capitals snatched a advancement to the next round off of a 2-1 victory. The game was played in Washington DC, and the home crowd was very much pleased, considering that the Capitals hadn't had much luck in game 7's before hand, only winning 3 of 9. The Red Wings couldn't conjure up a response, and just for kicks, Anton Stralman sent the puck the length of the ice to cap off the game with an empty-netter.
